State of Arizona Budget Cuts Options
Music Therapy Option -The Arizona State University Music Therapy Clinic provides music therapy services to a variety of clients. Individual and small group sessions are possible. The clinic runs Monday-Friday with limited possible placement on a Saturday. The Clinic is housed in the ASU Community Services Building at 200 N. Curry Road in Tempe (corner of Van Buren and Washington/Curry Rd).
There is ample free parking. Sessions meet once per week for 50 minutes. Session time is determined by the client's schedule and the availability of the clinic space and the student music therapist who will be working with the client. Sessions are scheduled for a 10-12 week period at the beginning of the Fall (early Sept.) and Spring (early Feb) semesters. Only limited placements are available over the summer.
The ASU Music Therapy Clinic's primary functions is to train undergraduate music therapy students. Each student is assigned a client or client group and is closely supervised by a Board Certified Music Therapist. Though we insure the best possible music therapy treatment, it is good to remember that these music therapists are in training and can not be compared to experienced professionals. Because of this, we do not charge for the music therapy sessions per se, but do ask for a once per semester $85 equipment and materials fee. Some limited scholarships are available. We cannot accept DDD payment. To refer a client to the ASU Music Therapy Clinic, contact Professor Robin Rio by phone at 480-727-7649 or e-mail her at Robin-Rio@asu.edu to request a referral form. Please include your name and full mailing address so that the form can be sent to you. For questions, please contact Professor Rio or Professor Barbara J. Crowe at 480-965-7413 or e-mail at Barbara.J.Crowe@asu.edu

Respite Option- Have you thought of Babysitting Co-ops? The official definition of a co-op is an enterprise or institution owned and operated by the people who use its services. In practice, of course, babysitting co-ops are much more casual: Basically, a bunch of parents get together and agree to take turns watching each other's children.
